[a]pendics shuffle and Altiply “Lonley Packback” on Adjunct Records
Co-written and produced with [a]pendics shuffle
Had it been ready for consumption earlier this year, Ken Gibson and Ian Read’s skeletal clapping mishmash of plinks and photon blasts might have fit nicely on Matthew Dear’s Audion Fabric mix. Its minimal getup snarls with the same Jurassic Park velociraptor throat-belches that rattled Dear’s Suckfish in 2005, and it’s a good first swing for the forthcoming Adjunct collabo series. — Dominic Umile, Miami New Times - 11/16/06
Sensitize / Mt. Simms split 12″ on Hallucination Records
Original mix by I. Read and Sean Patrick as Sensitize
Irresistible moments? Sensitize’s “History Is Not Shrinking (Mount Simms Rework)†opens with a slippery Italo vibe but then turns deeply funky with a female vocalist’s cool interjections… - Textura.org, September 2005
Electronic Music Composer - “Abandon Music” on Planet-Mu
Written, produced and engineered by Kenneth J. Gibson and I. Read
Coming at you like a snarling electronic bison, EMC are straight at your throats with the rotating beats and acid dusted peaks… - bookmat.com
Abandon Music is a record that manages to produce more pathos than a hundred singer songwriters. Tracks split and collapse, reform and crash into each other, merging into one large soundscape painted in broad digital strokes that brim with vibrancy and joy. - Chris Prewett, Subba-Cultcha
Polycubist / Dubloner split 12″ on Skor Records
additional production by I. Read for Polycubist
Some heavyweight dub to bring y’all back to Earth in the form of a split EP by a gang of Echo Park hippies. - XLR8TR, 1/03
